Just yesterday, I spent three hours drawing this same Giuliano with charcoal. And before that, nine hours... I love those curls and the arch of the neck, and the features, but I'm still a beginner and they're hard to capture for me in a satisfying way. How many hours did you work on this, if you say it's 3 months? Seeing this piece is an inspiration... Congrats on the DD.
Wow. I remember a time when I thought four hours was such a long time spent on a piece of art... my record must be now somehere around 20 hours on a digital piece. But it seems like I still have a long way to go. Thank you!
Oh my, isn't this a small world? Just a few weeks ago, my drawing instructor had a slide of this exact piece up as an ideal example for approaching a still life with charcoals. Out of all the examples he had shown us, this one was by far my favorite. So image my surprise when I came across this very piece in the daily deviations mere moments ago!
